What is the Great Schools Franchisee Owners Association?

The Great Schools Franchisee Owners Association (GSFOA) is an independent association of The Goddard School® Franchisees – and an affiliated chapter of the American Association of Franchisees & Dealers (AAFD). GSFOA was formed to help franchisees collaborate with each other and our franchisor for the betterment of the franchise, franchisor, and franchisee experience. And as a franchisee, GSFOA can help you save money and grow your business.

Franchisee-led, Franchisee-focused

The GSFOA:

  • Facilitates franchisee-initiated and controlled legal services, networking, benchmarking, best practice sharing, help, and communication with our franchisor about things that matter to many franchisees;
  • Works collaboratively with the franchisor to address and resolve issues that are important to franchisees; and
  • Offers members access to important services and valuable discounts to supplement those provided by our franchisor.

Legal, Education & Advocacy Resources

GSFOA Members get access to:

  • Legislative support services that can help members evaluate their position re: proposed changes in government rules and regulations (e.g., the proposed NLRB joint employer rule), and more.
  • Attorneys retained by GSFOA who:
    a) know members’ agreements and can help you understand how annual changes to new franchise agreements might affect you in the future, and
    b) can efficiently and expertly review and recommend changes to the agreement you receive when it’s time to renew.

Group Purchasing and Savings

GSFOA Members benefit from:

  • Resources provided by AAFD including Franchisee LegaLinesm, FinanciaLinesm , Suppliers Network, retirement and healthcare plans, Phone and Voice services, group purchasing, and franchisee-oriented publications.
  • Webinars on how to run a business and what you can do for marketing to supplement franchisor-provided guidance, services, and print and electronic materials.
  • Discounts on commonly purchased materials, supplies, and services.

Accomplishments

  • Nearly 200 member schools and growing membership comprises nearly 25% of Goddard School locations!

  • Hired franchise industry law firm to review members’ franchise agreements and provide specialized advice to franchisees who are renewing their agreements or opening another school

  • Established with our franchisor that Wonder of Learning is not mandatory for all franchisees at this time, saving some more than $1,000/month in Kaymbu/WoL fees and Goddard Books.

  • Negotiated member discounts with Teaching Strategies/Tadpoles, SoTellUs, Supercheap Signs
  • Arranged franchisee access to Google Business Profiles and provided webinars on how to improve Google Business Reviews

  • Implemented organization and communication structures to include Interim Board, email database, WhatsApp Community, logos, wordmarks, and Website
